Tour Overview
This itinerary allows you to witness the great wildebeest migration in the short grass plains of South Serengeti. The Ndutu Region is part of the northern section of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and extends to the unfenced southern reaches of Serengeti National Park, serving as a meeting point between these two remarkable wilderness areas. This part of the park features rolling grasslands dotted with alkaline lakes that attract large flocks of flamingos, as well as acacia woodlands.
Itinerary Day By Day
Upon arriving in Arusha, you will check in at the Vulin Hotel, a cozy and welcoming establishment known for its hospitable staff and comfortable accommodations. After settling into your room, take some time to relax and refresh.
You can explore the hotel’s amenities, perhaps enjoying a swim in the pool or a stroll in the garden.
In the early morning, you will begin your day with breakfast before driving to the Ndutu area, where an amazing experience awaits you.
After breakfast, start your day with a game drive in the Ndutu area. Following this adventure, return to camp for lunch before resuming the game drive in the afternoon.
While in the wilderness, you'll have the opportunity to track the Great Migration trails. A detailed explanation of this remarkable world event, for which Tanzania is renowned, will be provided. As the sun sets in the evening, you'll be in Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and recently recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Serengeti is famous for its annual migration, offering a breathtaking experience.
Start your day with an early morning game drive through the short grass plains of south Serengeti, then head to the central Serengeti in the afternoon.
The central Serengeti, located at the heart of this stunning national park, is the most popular area for sights of abundant wildlife, large populations of big cats, and iconic landscapes of acacia-studded savanna. Resident wildlife makes this part of the Serengeti an excellent year-round destination. However, the best times to visit are from April to June and October to December, when the great migration herds pass through the region.
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater for a day of game viewing, including a picnic lunch. Enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the unbroken caldera, home to many flamingos.
The Ngorongoro Crater hosts numerous wildlife species, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant. Various bird species can also be spotted around the crater.
rangire National Park
After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park, where you will have a picnic lunch while enjoying game viewing. Tarangire is renowned as a paradise for elephants.
The park is famous for the thousands of elephants that migrate there during the dry season in search of water. Additionally, you can spot many other animals, including wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, buffalos and hippos.
