Overview
Welcome to the world of Kilimanjaro treks! The Umbwe route is one of the most popular routes up Kilimanjaro. It is a steep and shorter route than the Machame route and offers spectacular views of the mountain. Once you reach the Barranco Hut you will join the other Machame hikers for the rest of the trek.
The descent is down the Mweka Trail, which is a very short and direct route, so it’s not recommended for those with little altitude experience. We offer our Kilimanjaro treks as private trips, so you can start on any day that works for you. Let us know if you have any questions!
